Tournament Report:

 

A.                 January Tournament –
The January 2010 Tournament was held as scheduled at Falcon Lake, 1/23&24. There were a total of 14 participants including Mike Schensted, guest of Denny Rosenfeld. Expectations were high as several big bass were caught during practice on Thursday and Friday.  Thoughts of new Big Bass and Big Stringer Club Records were spreading throughout the club. Winds were high on Saturday and higher on Sunday.  The only Big Bite was the one Mother Nature provided us!

B.                 February 2010 Tournament - The February 2010 tournament is a two-day tournament scheduled for the 27th and 28th at Amistad.  Fishing times are safe light to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, and safe light to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.  Weigh in both days will be at the Air Force Ramp.

 

Old Business

 

A         Club Website – Volunteers were solicited to take over the Club Website but due to the lack of candidates with a Website background, James has agreed to continue. He asked for help to provide pictures and new information for the website. Several people were interested in learning more and offered to help.  President Richards asked James to contact him if there were any problems or issues.

 

B.        Charity Event-Deferred to February meeting. President Richards requested that everyone to think about what they would like to suggest.

 

New Business:

 

A.        Rule Changes – Steve Bell made a motion that no changes be made, Second by Russ Williams.  Passed by unanimous vote

 

B.        Sportsman of the Year – Russ Williams nominated Ashley used to be Manning, second by Troy Lynn, Passed by unanimous vote.

 

C.                 Bubba Bass- Deferred to February Meeting.  James is reviewing the 2009 minutes to provide monthly “Winners”

D.        Tournament Committee – It was decided that no tournament committee would be formed. Motion made by Troy Lynn, second by Ira Lynn, passed unanimously

 

E.         Tournament Host- It was decided that no tournament hosts be assigned. Motion made by Steve Bell, second by Ira Lynn, passed unanimously. 

 

F.                  Review Tournament Schedule. Discussion to review last 3 events in 2010 to be closer to home.  Don Richards made motion to review and set schedule no later than June 30, 2010, second by Stan Karlow, passed unanimously. Also discussed was Mystery Tournament cancellation and possibly add a family tournament

G.                Minimum Tournament Requirement- There is no requirement regarding the number of tournaments that must be fished. This might require a constitutional review.

H.                Club Banquet- Motion made by Russ Williams to have banquet February 27, 2010 at Rudy’s BBQ in Del Rio, TX

I.                   Weigh Scales- Motion made by Russ Williams to extend warranty on club scales at a cost of $30-$35. Second by Troy Lynn, passed unanimously

J.                  Sharing of Knowledge- Ira Lynn, Danny Moy and Troy Zipperer shared with the club their fishing technique and tips.
