Tournament Report:

  1. January Tournament - The January tournament was held on January 24th and 25th at Falcon Lake.  We had a great turn-out with 12 members participating in the tournament.  The weather was pretty intense this weekend.  The outcome of the tournament is as follows:

1.      Don Richards – 25.67

2.      Ira Lynn – 23.38

3.      Janet Zipperer – 20.85

4.      Scott Hutzler – 15.43

5.      Tina Lynn – 10.38

6.      Troy Zipperer – 9.64

Big Bass – Don Richards 7.09

  1. Tournament
    1. The February tournament is a two day tournament at Amistad.  The dates are February 28th and March 1st. 

 

New Business:

  1. Executive Committee
    1. Troy Zipperer and Denny Rosenfeld volunteered to be a part of the executive committee. 
    2. The executive committee consists of the club officers, Troy Z., and Denny R.
  2. Warranty for Weigh Scales
    1. Do we want to renew the warranty for the weigh scales?  The cost is $30.  Members present voted for the warranty to be renewed.
    2. Troy Zipperer will take care of this issue.
  3. City Tournament
    1. City Tournament is set for October 3rd and 4th with the lake currently undecided.  Metro is waiting for the best offer.  It will be between Falcon and Amistad. 
    2. The September and October tournaments will be adjusted depending on the lake set for the City Tournament.  Don Richards will e-mail us with the corrections closer to the dates.
  4. 2008 Award Banquet
    1. A club banquet for the 2008 season will consist of a cook-out paid for by the club.
    2. We will hold this cook-out in March or April (good weather months).
    3. Club Champion will have their name placed on a plaque.  The winner will receive the plaque to hold onto for the current year. 
    4. Sportsman of the Year is Don Richards.
    5. Top six will be awarded $25 gift cards to Academy, Sportsman’s Warehouse, or Bass Pro Shops.  
  5. Tournament Points
    1. The top ten tournaments will be used to determine end of year standings.
  6. Charity
    1. Create a list of ideas for charity events.  We will share out in April the ideas.
    2. Some ideas mentioned:

  1. Bubba Bass
    1. The December winner goes to Don “How far will that oar Go?” Richards.  Just ask him about his many troubles at LBJ.
    2. Bubba Bass for the Year – Ed “Brush Butt” Manning and Ashley “Who’s going to pick out the thorns?” Manning
    3. Start nominating your partners for Bubba Bass.  No one is safe! 
  2. Membership – Membership dues of $30 must be paid no later than the third tournament/meeting of the year.  There are currently 9 paid members to date.
