Freedom Bass Club Monthly Minutes

Tournament Report:

  1. February Tournament:  The February tournament was held on February 9 and 10 at Choke Canyon Lake.  We had a super turn out with 19 members and 1 guest participating in the tournament.  The outcome of the tournament is as follows:

1.      Heath Conrad – 39.5 lbs

2.      Alex Gonzalez – 39.38 lbs

3.      Mike Bradley – 31.19 lbs

4.      Don Albrecht – 25.13 lbs

5.      Troy Zipperer – 23.38 lbs

6.      Bill Berry – 23.19 lbs

Big Bass – Heath Conrad 9.13 lbs

  1. March Tournament
    1. The March tournament is scheduled for March 8 and 9 at Lake Amistad in Del Rio, Texas.
    2. The club has a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn.
    3. There will be a fish fry Saturday night at the Comfort Inn (parking lot near the pool).

 

 

Old Business:

  1. Epilepsy Tournament
    1. There will be five payouts per hour.
    2. There will be a 70/30 spread.
  2. Rebecca Bell Fundraiser
    1. A fundraiser has been suggested by Don Richards.  It will take place in the Smithson Valley area in the summer. 
    2. Funds from the September through December tournaments will help pay for the set-up of the fundraiser.
    3. The fundraiser will take the place of any club tournament monies being donated to the Bell family.
  3. Banquet
    1. The banquet is tentatively set for March 2, 2008 at Papa Gallo’s at 4 pm.
    2. Individuals will cover the cost of the meal.
    3. Family and friends are invited.

 

New Business:

  1. New Members
    1. Jim Carroll and Bubba Dubois were voted into the club despite their absence from the tournament.
    2. No points will be awarded to them until their next tournament.

 

  1. Bubba Bass

This one is somewhat embarrassing because it involves the person who types these minutes.  Oh well, here it goes:  Being a girl on a boat who needs to use the restroom can be quite tricky; especially when you add in the inconvenience of other boaters nearby.  After an antagonizing hour of waiting, Ashley Manning was able to use the restroom.  Thinking that the coast was clear, Ashley hung off the side of the boat.  The next thing she knew, something sharp was jabbing her in the “back side”.  It was a sharp bush scraping her rear!  The first person Ashley blamed (of course is not herself) but the person running the troll motor.  After all, the troll motor operator ran her into the bush!  I warn other females, look before you go!  And males, be thankful you don’t have to worry about this.  So this month’s Bubba Bass winner(s) is a joint effort:
